What Is A Stone Grind?

A Stone Grind puts a pattern in the base of skis and snowboards. These minute striations or lines in the bottom material allow the ski to glide over the snow more freely. Stone Grinds also keeping suction and Friction to a minimum.

Why Do I Need My Skis/Snowboard Tuned?

The motion of skiing/snowboarding causes friction that dulls the edges and bases. This diminishes the overall performance, making turning, and stopping harder. Regular tuning allows the equipment to function and Glide Properly.

What Type Of Wax Do You Use?

At Putnams we use Green Wax. An organic and petroleum free wax. Like our customers we are environmentally conscious, and prefer to keep the mountains natural.

How Often Should I Tune My Skis/Snowboard?

For optimal performance we recommend your equipment be tuned after 6 days of skiing/riding. If the equipment receives major trauma it should be brought in for immediate repair before more damage is done.

How Should I Store My Skis/Snowboard?

A cool dry place keeps oxidation to a minimum. Excessive heat or wetness can warp or damage your equipment.
